How it all got started…
While working on my nutrition and food science degree at Florida State University, I got the bug to work as a private practice dietitian. At that time, I just didn’t know where to begin. After obtaining my status as a registered dietitian, I worked in a dialysis center, hospital, and for a company that worked to reduce the risk of heart disease. During the time that I was employed in a hospital, I obtained my Master of Science degree in Exercise Science in hopes of intertwining my love of nutrition and exercise. I left my full-time job in 2010 to be a full-time mom to my 11 month old son and devoted my life to raising him and my next four children.
Raising children filled my days in early motherhood and still does! However, I managed to find time to study and continue my education in sports nutrition and the science of running. I knew that, eventually, I would want to make this into a career.

Finally, I became a certified run coach and merged my knowledge of running with nutrition and Fuel Your Sport, LLC was born.
Since my first marathon in 2008, I have run 18 marathons and counting. I have had the privilege of competing in 4 of the World Marathon Majors, including Boston, Chicago, New York, and Berlin. The small marathons and the big ones are equally exciting to me for different reasons.
Continuing my education with the latest research is important to me while also and gaining experience by participating in the sport. Knowledge is important, but experience is vital part of what allows me to give my athletes optimal support in achieving their goals.
Providing my athletes with information, support, optimal training, and nutrition knowledge is my passion and I am fortunate to call this my “job”.
A little more about me…
I am married to an amazing and supportive man, Matt, and we have five awesome children! Cooking fun and new foods is a hobby of mine and I consider myself to be a foodie. My children share this love with me and we believe that you can never own too many cookbooks! I also enjoy gardening, although I am not very good at it. It is fun to learn-as-I-go with new shrubs and flowers. We also plant a vegetable garden each year and get a thrill out of enjoying and sharing the fruits of our labor. While running is my first “sports-love”, we encourage our children to try new things and do what they enjoy. They have dabbled in soccer, baseball, running, dance, swimming, and gymnastics. We love watching them master new skills and discover their own hobbies!
